After Ronaldo’s long awaited debut for the Corinthians on Wednesday, the
fans are now eager to see Ronaldo on the scoresheet again but the
fenomeno has said that his first goal for the Corinthians will not be
his obsession.
“The goal has always been part of my life. I will not create an
obsession. If you speak to me, speak to gol. The year is long and still
have time to do many goals,” said Ronaldo.
Ronaldo could have scored in his debut but his teammate Douglas chose
to go for glory himself. After the game Douglas said, “I thought that
Ronaldo was offside, therefore I went for goal.” Although the replay
clearly showed Ronaldo onside and left all alone in the box.
However, Ronaldo has forgiven Douglas and understands the reasons for
his decision just like any other athlete.
“At that time, he needed a decision and did what felt best. He told
me later that he was tired, worn out, which was half the reason for his
decision,” said Ronnie.
Corinthians next opponents are rivals Palmeiras on Sunday the 8th of
