Brazilian ace Ronaldo is facing a race to
be fit for Real Madrid's weekend derby date with Atletico Madrid after
suffering a leg injury in his country's World Cup qualifying win over
Venezuela on Wednesday.
Ronaldo scored in the 3-0 win which saw the five-times world champions
come top of the South American group after Argentina's loss to Uruguay
but complained of pain in his quadriceps muscles as he reported back for
Real were set to give him a fitness test Friday morning to determine if
he would be ready potentially to fire Real to the top of the table after
the club's recent resurgence in La Liga.
The club are currently third, two points behind surprise early leaders
Getafe while Atletico are in mid-table.
