Ronaldo has disputed two
city clashes against Espanyol when he was playing for Barca.
On September 7, 1996 at Camp Nou he won 2-1, scorino Jordi Lardin,
equalling Brazilian Giovanni and winning goal in the final minutes by
Juan Antonio Pizzi.
At Montjuic’s Olympic
Stadium, Espanyol won 2 to 0, scoring twice Florin Raducioiu.
Since he joined Real,
Ronaldo played once against Espanyol in Barcelona. The final score was
2-2, scoring Roger and Raъl Tamudo for Espanyol, and Roberto Carlos and
Luis Figo for Real Madrid.
On October 5, 2003 Ronaldo
scored his first two goals against the Catalans at Santiago Bernabeu.
The match ended 2-1 for Real Madrid.
Finally on the 21st of
February 2004, Real Madrid defeated Espanyol (2-4), again with two
strikes by Ronaldo, who opened and closed the scoring.
However, Montjuic suggests
other good memories to Ronaldo, who during his debut in the Spanish
league scored two goals to At.Madrid in the Spain’s SuperCup 1996-97 (Barзa
won 5-2). During that match his great partner was Ivan De La Peсa, who
will be among his rivals next weekend at Montjuic. |
