MADRID, Spain (AP) --
Ronaldo will be sidelined about two weeks because of a
torn left thigh muscle, meaning the Real Madrid star
will miss Wednesday's Champions League game against
Bayern Munich.
The Spanish league's top
scorer left in the 74th minute of Saturday's game with
Racing de Santander and was examined again Sunday.
``It could have been a
lot worse,'' team doctor Alfonso Del Corral said on Real
Madrid's Web site. ``If the muscle damage had been
bigger we'd be looking at four to six weeks out.''
Del Corral said the
Brazilian will not play against Bayern or against
Zaragoza in the Spanish League next weekend. His
availability for the Copa del Rey on March 17 ``looks
complicated,'' Del Corral said.
Ronaldo leads the league
with 22 goals in 27 games. |
