The Spanish League has not already started
and Ronaldo and his Real Madrid have already secured their first seasonal title.
Coach Queiroz’s team was able to comeback from the loss (2-1) suffered in the
first leg in Mallorca, and after a great performance at Bernabeu could secure
the Spanish Super Cup, by defeating their opponent three to nil in the return
match. It is for sure the best way to commence a season which, like in the
recent past, looks like it will be a tough and difficult one. Real’s stars
proved they can decide any match at anytime. Figo had scored in the first match,
Raúl- Beckham-Ronaldo did it in the return match. Besides his great score, the
Brazilian striker was the starring player of the match, serving an assist to
David Beckham for the final goal with a magnificent cross. Ronnie could win
again the Spanish Super Cup in the month of August and it’s his second title. He
is in great shape and this season looks like beginning under a lucky star.
Decisive
Ronnie
Among the best players
Together with goalkeeper Iker Casillas, the
Brazilian star was undoubtedly on of the best players of the match. In the first
half, to be remarked a shot blocked by Balearian goalkeeper Leo Franco and a
switf play, that could only be interrupted by opponent defenders with a foul. In
the 52nd minute of the match he even scored the second goal of the match, that
decided the Super Cup. In the 68th minute, he could not benefit of an assist by
Roberto Carlos, while in the 75th minute he moved down the left wing and
packages a perfect cross for David Beckham, who easily converted with a header
for the third and final goal of Real Madrid CF. Ronnie had a complete
performance, helping his own defence and coming back to his half-field to
recuperate useful balls.
Kings
of the Super Cup
Seventh title
Real Madrid CF dominate the Spanish Super Cup’s
record. The “merengues” have just conquered their seventh title of this
competitio, after the title won in 1988, 1989, 1990, 1993, 1997 and 2001.
Barcelona FC still hold five trophies. Raúl González (44'), Ronaldo (52') and
David Beckham’s (73') goals fixed the final 3-0 against RC Mallorca, that had
previously won the first match two to one at Son Moix. A neat, well-earned
victory, largely celebrated inside and outside the football court at the end of
the game.

Right-foot on the first post
Leo Franco was Ronnie’s first victim for the
football season 2003-04. The Brazilian striker scored the first of the 35
official goals that he set as his seasonal scoring target, passing Mallorca’s
Argentina-native goalkeeper in the second half. After 52 minutes, Luis Figo
served Ronnie a deep pass, which was controlled by the Brazilian star, who
unleashed a level shot on the first post, namely where it seemed more difficult
to score.
That is our
Ronie!!! Good Luck!!!
